Abstract
This presentation outlines the challenges experienced during implementation of the NSW Health Electronic Health Record.
The NSW Health Electronic Health Record is a major IT initiative that will provide clinicians with simple access to integrated patient information. The system is currently being piloted. It is providing information to clinicians about patients across their journey through public and private health services. This system, when fully operational, will support the coordination of services and care provided across community health, acute and private providers leading to improved quality and safety.
This presentation will outline what the pilot set out to achieve, the current status of the project, what challenges have arisen during the implementation thus far, early feedback from clinicians, the upcoming evaluation process, and plans for the state-wide rollout. Included will be a brief demonstration of Healthelink EHR.
